About Willoughby House Group

Welcome to the Willoughby House Group website. Membership of WHG is open to all residents, tenants and long leaseholders of Willoughby House at the Barbican. There is currently no membership fee to join. All you need to do is contact the secretary with your name and flat number. There is more information about membership on this page.

The house group exists to represent the interests of all who live in Willoughby House and is a Recognised Tenants Association (or RTA). House Group committee members attend meetings of the Barbican Association (BA), the Barbican Residents’ Consultation Committee (RCC) and other estate-wide bodies in order to ensure the interests of Willoughby House are always represented. We also work closely with the Barbican Estate Office (BEO) and our House Officer, Luke Barton.

The House Group meets regularly throughout the year and all members are welcome to attend these meetings, to raise items or request that an item is discussed.

It is important that we retain the high level of membership we have achieved in the past, in order to maintain our status as an RTA. This is valuable in our dealings with the City or the BEO, or when raising concerns on your behalf with public authorities, local businesses and so on. It also allows us to reclaim the majority of our running costs from public funds. If you are new to Willoughby House or are unsure if you are registered as a member, please contact the Secretary and provide details of your flat number.
