We continue to be concerned for pedestrian safety around the non-operational Milton Court site and the point where it meets the Ropemaker Place site.
The street lighting attached to Milton Court was lost when the building was demolished and has not been replaced. Numerous times, the safety lighting has also failed. Lighting at the points where pedestrians cross the road is not up to standard.
One of the pavements has been removed, and at the North corner, there is no safe landing for pedestrians at all, who have to walk some for some distance, unprotected, in the roadway at a traffic junction where vehicle movements are unpredictable. Furthermore, delivery vehicles to the Ropemaker site and also to Citypoint reduce sight lines and make safe crossing difficult, as well as putting vehicles into conflict with one another.
We have raised our concerns with the City on numerous occasions, and have been told each time that improvements are being made. We have not seen any improvement yet. We will continue to press for improvements here.
We recommend you take great care crossing the road here, and cross using the pedestrian refuges (islands) in Moor Lane.
